- Initial Support for MacOS 14 (Sonoma) SoundSource now has initial compatibility with the forthcoming MacOS 14 (Sonoma), with no known issues.
- Improvements in ACE 11.9.4 The Audio Capture Engine (ACE) has been updated to 11.9.4, with compatibility for MacOS 14 (Sonoma), correct capture of audio from Xcode Playgrounds, and many smaller improvements for even more reliable audio capture.
- New “Permissions” Window SoundSource’s Options (Gear) menu now includes a new “Permissions” window, to easily enable permissions for the app. The “Accessibility Access” permission is needed for the handy “Super Volume Keys” feature to function. When running MacOS 14 or higher, the “Bluetooth Access” permission is needed to provide the optimal experience with Bluetooth audio devices and your Mac.
- The Headphone EQ and 10-Band EQ effects now use 64-bit signal processing, ensuring the cleanest audio pathway possible.
- SoundSource will now consistently detect applications run through the latest version of CrossOver.
- An issue where certain games launched by Steam would have their audio processing duplicated has been corrected.
- A rare crash which could occur with certain USB devices when waking the Mac from sleep has been fixed.
- The menu bar muting feature while the main window is open will no longer cause expanded source sections to unexpectedly collapse.
- The effects list will no longer inadvertently collapse or expand via the left/right arrow shortcuts, avoiding interface issues.
- The SoundSource window now maintains the correct window level when attached to the menu bar, allowing it to correctly be obscured by VLC when set to “Float on Top”.
- Clearing an effect’s name can no longer incorrectly result in the effect having no name at all.
- The VoiceOver readout has been fixed for for generic Audio Unit sliders with a parameter range falling outside of 0 to 1.
- Minor adjustments have been made to global shortcuts in the “Settings” window, to provide better tooltips and a correct cancel (X) button.
- Audio Unit plugins built with the iPlug2 SDK, including Neural Amp Modeller, should now have correct mouse responsiveness.
- A bug that hid the software update progress panel when downloading test releases on unofficially supported operating systems has been corrected.
- SoundSource’s “About” box now shows the version of MacOS upon which it is currently running.
- MacOS 11 or higher is now required. SoundSource now requires MacOS 11 (Big Sur) or higher. If you're still on 10.15 (or lower)
